Baseball Recap: Lejeune Comes Up Short

Lejeune extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-10. They lost 17-3 to the Northside - Pinetown Panthers. The Devilpups were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Northside - Pinetown, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

For Northside - Pinetown's part, Holden Boykin was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Boykin is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Will Taylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

While Lejeune had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
