Appomattox County is a perfect 5-0 against Galileo since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Raiders will head out to face off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Appomattox County took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Chatham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Payton Melvin was the driving force of Appomattox County's attack as she scored both of Appomattox County's goals, bringing her season total up to eight goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galileo). Everything went their way against Altavista on Wednesday as they made off with a 5-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Galileo considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Appomattox County pushed their record up to 5-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Galileo, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-8.

Appomattox County beat Galileo by a goal in their previous matchup back in April, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
