Football Recap: Moon Area Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Moon Area was feeling good fresh off their 41-13 takedown of Montour last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers and the Penn-Trafford Warriors were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Tigers suffered a 25-24 defeat. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

A big part of Penn-Trafford's victory came down to the chemistry between Nate Desmond and his top target Cody Yacamelli. Desmond threw for 241 yards and one TD while Yacamelli rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Yacamelli a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Nick Ponko did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.

Moon Area's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Penn-Trafford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moon Area will venture away from home to face off against West Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Penn-Trafford, they will head out to square off against Woodland Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
