League recap: Clifton win leads to rise in state rank

Clifton moved up to 769 from 832 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region III District 12. The Cubs were able to make the jump by beating Whitney 47-13.

Palmer took down Life Red Oak 53-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Trevor Davenport ran for 208 yards and caught two passes for 53 yards in the win.

Chad Hundley put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats fell to Clifton. He finished with a total of six completions for 27 yards and one touchdown. Hundley's favorite target this week was Nick St. John , who caught one pass for eight yards.

Grandview's Ryan Breton and Colby Lee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Breton has thrown for 953 yards this season, while Lee has 34 catches for 474 yards. Judge Wolfe from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Godley takes on Whitney. At the moment, the Wildcats are in first, while Craig Stanton's team is in 13th.

Palmer led 2A-1 Region III District 12 in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Mustangs. Davenport in the win.
