Basketball Recap: College Station Cougars vs. Rudder Rangers
The College Station Cougars can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged Rudder out 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory College Station has posted since December 28, 2023.
Rudder's loss came despite strong showings from Randon Cooks and Jaquise Martin. Cooks scored 22 points, while Martin scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooks has scored all season.
College Station's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Rudder, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-16.
College Station will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cubs at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Brenham's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Rudder, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Creek will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
