Soccer Game Preview: St. Michael's vs. TMI-Episcopal

The St. Michael's Warriors will venture away from home to take on the TMI-Episcopal Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

St. Michael's is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Central Catholic just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Buttons by a score of 4-3. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Buttons are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, TMI-Episcopal didn't have quite enough to beat Savio on Friday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

TMI-Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for St. Michael's, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-2.

St. Michael's beat TMI-Episcopal by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Michael's since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
