Basketball Recap: Pillow Academy Takes a Loss

Pillow Academy and Leake Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pillow Academy had to settle for second. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leake Academy Rebels. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Leake Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Prince, who went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Prince a new career-high in shooting accuracy (83%). Another player making a difference was Hannah Clark, who posted eight points.

Pillow Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Leake Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 31-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pillow Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Simpson Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leake Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on East Rankin Academy at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. East Rankin Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Leake Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
