Football Recap: Ozark Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ozark can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Nixa Eagles and fell 42-6. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Eagles are ranked second).

Nixa's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden McCaster, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. McCaster showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam McKnight, who rushed for 79 yards and one score.

Ozark has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Nixa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Ozark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nixa, they will take on Joplin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: McCaster and Traevian McCadney.
