Basketball Recap: Coventry Comets vs. Field Falcons
There's no place like home for the Coventry Comets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Field by a score of 71-59 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coventry found their leader in underclassman Reggie Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Meinen, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Coventry's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Field, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Coventry will head out on the road to square off against the Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscarawas Central Catholic is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Field, they will be playing at home against the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cloverleaf's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
