University has gone a perfect 10-0 against Stuart Hall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 5:00 p.m. University will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times University and Marin Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Devils' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 11-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Red Devils have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Owen Chee, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Jett Messenger was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Stuart Hall sidestepped San Domenico for a 3-1 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Ryder Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Anderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Bach Gebler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Matias Fals also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
University's record is now 13-8. As for Stuart Hall, their record now sits at 11-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. University has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. However, it's not like Stuart Hall struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
University skirted past Stuart Hall 3-2 when the teams last played last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
