Basketball Recap: Valdez Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Valdez had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 67-30 defeat at the hands of the Monroe Catholic Rams. The Buccaneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Monroe Catholic's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing West Valley the next time they take the court. Monroe Catholic will host West Valley at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, while Valdez will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
