Basketball Recap: Algoma Christian Has No Trouble Against Calvary Christian

Algoma Christian won the last time they faced Calvary Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Algoma Christian Knights blew past the Calvary Christian Eagles 52-26. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Algoma Christian found their leader in sophomore Mackenzie Afton, who posted eight points and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Afton. Another player making a difference was Anaiah Doncis, who en route to 10 points.

Algoma Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matchups.

Algoma Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Calvary Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
