Baseball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University fell victim to Brownsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Trailblazers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

University got a good showing from Hunter Canning, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Canning has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, University saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Castetter, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

University now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Brownsburg, their record now sits at 6-2.

Looking ahead, University will head out to take on Liberty Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trailblazers are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brownsburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Zionsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
