Football Game Preview: Wake Forest Cougars vs. Heritage Huskies + How To Watch

Wake Forest has gone 9-1 against Heritage recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will host the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Wake Forest sitting on four straight victories and Heritage on three.

On Friday, Wake Forest didn't have too much trouble with Franklinton as they won 23-7.

Micah Olu was his usual excellent self, rushing for 117 yards and a pair of TDs. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Wake Forest is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Stefen Tabon was another key rusher, rushing for 89 yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wake Forest proved: they limited Franklinton to a paltry 0.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Josiah Sturdivant stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss). Wake Forest's ground attack was stronger, having averaged four.

Meanwhile, Heritage was able to grind out a solid win over Knightdale on Friday, taking the game 32-23. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly nine points.

Wake Forest better keep an eye on Jhon Carela-Pantaleon. He was instrumental in Heritage's win, rushing for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Those 189 rushing yards gave Carela-Pantaleon a new career-high. Travis Holmes got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wake Forest, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Wake Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 13-10. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
