Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Fremont Tigers

Bellevue East hasn't had much luck against Fremont recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bellevue East Chieftains will head out to square off against the Fremont Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bellevue East is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Bellevue West, falling 76-56. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Fremont came up short against Lincoln Northeast on Saturday and fell 71-61. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Bellevue East's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Bellevue East came up short against Fremont in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 64-58. Can Bellevue East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
