Baseball Recap: Fortuna Comes Up Short

Fortuna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Arcata Tigers, falling 10-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

Fortuna saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariqus Ludd, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Fortuna's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Arcata, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Fortuna will square off against Eureka at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arcata, they will host McKinleyville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
