Soccer Game Preview: Bluefield vs. Shady Spring

Bluefield hasn't had much luck against Shady Spring recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Beavers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Bluefield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Bluefield is coming into the contest fresh off a high-scoring shootout with PikeView that saw the pair combine for 27 shots on goal. The Beavers took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Thursday.

Devin Totten wasn't going to let PikeView walk away unscathed as he scored both of Bluefield's goals, bringing his season total up to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Shady Spring kept a clean sheet against James Monroe on Thursday. They blew past the Mavericks 8-0. Considering Shady Spring have won six matchups by more than six goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Shady Spring's win bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Bluefield, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Bluefield suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Shady Spring when the teams last played on September 11th. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Beavers were down 5-0.
