Baseball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs

The Metro Tech Knights will head out to take on the Sierra Linda Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Metro Tech turned things around against Central on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Bobcats. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sierra Linda ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Independence 14-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Sierra Linda pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Metro Tech, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Metro Tech skirted past Sierra Linda 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
