Volleyball Recap: Maywood CES Comes Up Short

If Maywood CES was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jordan on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolfpack took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gabrielino Eagles on Thursday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Maywood CES started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

Maywood CES' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Gabrielino, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maywood CES will face off against Foshay at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gabrielino, they will welcome Schurr at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
