The Coral Reef Barracudas are taking a road trip to challenge the Doral Academy Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Reef's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Doral Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Coral Reef needed a bit of extra time to put away Merritt Island. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Mustangs.

Quinley Wylie spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brianna Fields was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Chloe Junco also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, while Doral Academy put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for West Broward. The Firebirds came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.
The result came thanks to Meagan Villazon's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anabela Abdullah, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Doral Academy's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average this season. As for Coral Reef, their record now sits at 14-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coral Reef hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Doral Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .408. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coral Reef might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Doral Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can the Barracudas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
