Volleyball Recap: Mauston Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mauston posted their closest win since October 8, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Colby Hornets. The win was familiar territory for the Golden Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Breanna Heller paced Mauston's offense, picking up nine kills. Heller got some help from Ellie Pouillie and her nine assists. Kira Clemens controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Colby saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rylee Carr had six digs and three aces. Carr is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Mauston's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Colby, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coincidentally, Mauston and Colby will both be playing Cashton the next time they take the court. The Golden Eagles will head out to face the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hornets will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
