Recap: Smethport Hubbers vs. Northern Potter Panthers
The Smethport Hubbers were the 53-40 winner over the Northern Potter Panthers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Smethport fell 54-41 to Northern Potter on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Smethport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Northern Potter is ranked 266th).
Smethport lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Dunn , who scored 14 points. Brentton McDowell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for Smethport and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Northern Potter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Smethport will head out on the road to face off against Johnsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northern Potter, they will play host again and welcome Coudersport, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
