Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Allen

Allen made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Weleetka, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Allen was the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over Weleetka on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three games in a row.

Cruz Garrett made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Allen's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Garrett was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Allen let Landin Tenequer and Jax Watkins run wild. Tenequer scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Watkins got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Kale Horton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Allen's record now sits at 5-3. As for Weleetka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Allen will head out to face off against Tupelo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen is facing Tupelo at the right time seeing as Tupelo is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Weleetka, they will welcome Wilson-Henryetta at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
