Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Takes a Loss

If Hattiesburg was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Pearl River Central on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 10-3 to the Blue Devils on Friday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

D.J. Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Weatherspoon, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hattiesburg's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Pearl River Central, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8.
