Basketball Recap: Katie Strong's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Olmsted over Bay

After flying high against Valley Forge last Saturday, North Olmsted came back down to earth. The North Olmsted Eagles took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bay Rockets on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-42 back in December of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Strong, who posted eight points and nine boards. Rose Lane was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, North Olmsted smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests.

North Olmsted's record now sits at 6-10. As for Bay, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

North Olmsted will take on Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bay, they will venture away from home to take on Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
