Tupelo's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-14-1. As for Murrah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Everything went Tupelo's way against Murrah in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 as Tupelo made off with a 3-0 win.
