Recap: Springstead Eagles vs. Wiregrass Ranch Bulls
The Springstead Eagles waltzed into their match on Monday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. Everything went their way against Wiregrass Ranch as Springstead made off with a 41-21 victory. Springstead has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Springstead's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Suarez, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Suarez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. J'ziyah Munford was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Springstead pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springstead won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Citrus at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Citrus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Springstead is ranked 99th). Wiregrass Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Mitchell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
