Softball Recap: Rancho Verde Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rancho Verde, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Arroyo Valley Hawks on Thursday.

Isabelle Sena spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaylen Anderson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liah Navarro, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Rancho Verde back to even at 2-2. As for Arroyo Valley, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Verde will face off against Jurupa Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arroyo Valley, they will take on Temecula Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
