Softball Recap: St. Michaels Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Easton, St. Michaels was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings. Considering the Saints' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Evelyn Mautz was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Kaelyn Hicks was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The win got St. Michaels back to even at 7-7. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Michaels will take on Pocomoke at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something the Saints will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they will challenge Snow Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
