Lakeland Christian piles up the points against Frostproof

Recap: Lakeland Christian Vikings vs. Frostproof Bulldogs

The Lakeland Christian Vikings stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Frostproof, posting a 45-13 win at home. The victory was just what Lakeland Christian needed coming off of a 57-24 defeat in their prior match.

Lakeland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Issa Simpson, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Collette Zavada, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Frostproof's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danica Loaiza, who scored six points.

Lakeland Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Frostproof, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Lakeland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Discovery at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Discovery is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Frostproof, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Meade at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Meade's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Frostproof's offense will have their work cut out for them.
