Volleyball Recap: Black River Pirates vs. Columbia Raiders
After flying high against First Baptist Christian last Thursday, Black River came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the Columbia Raiders on Tuesday. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Columbia scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21.
Maryn Biddle paced Black River's offense, picking up 14 kills. Biddle got some help from Morgan Kubitz and her 32 assists. Kubitz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
