Basketball Recap: South Pointe Takes a Loss

South Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Heritage Academy Heroes and fell 66-35. The matchup marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, South Pointe saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dasaan Schaeffer posted 22 points. The contest was Schaeffer's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Zyion Brown was another key player, putting up eight points.

South Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Heritage Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

While South Pointe had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
