Soccer Game Preview: Freedom vs. Lake Nona

The Freedom Patriots will head out to face off against the Lake Nona Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Freedom is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Horizon just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Lake Nona put another one in the bag back in December of 2024 to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Lake Howell onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Lake Howell from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Gabriel Campos led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Lake Nona is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-0-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those five matchups. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1.
