Basketball Recap: Elyria Catholic Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Elyria Catholic couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel Gators on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 82-62 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

Elyria Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Laurel, they pushed their record up to 12-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Elyria Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel, they will take on Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Perry will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Laurel surely won't give up without a fight.
