After a string of three wins, Houston County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union Grove Wolverines. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2022.

Houston County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23.

Houston County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Union Grove, they pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Houston County will challenge Harris County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union Grove, they will head out to square off against Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wolverines' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
