Wakefield and Wake Forest are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2023, but likely not for long. The Wolverines will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Wakefield's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.

Wakefield let Holly Work and Emily Fernandez run wild. Work went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Fernandez went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Lampman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Wake Forest's offense. They came up short against Heritage on Thursday, falling 11-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wakefield is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Wake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
