Softball Recap: St. Henry Comes Up Short

St. Henry came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Ansonia Tigers, falling 12-5. The loss continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Breonna McCoy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Kennedy Wendel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

St. Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Ansonia, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. St. Henry will head out to challenge Lincolnview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ansonia, they will host Jackson Center at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
