Volleyball Recap: Mabel-Canton's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Mabel-Canton won the last time they faced Schaeffer Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars blew past the Lions 3-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mabel-Canton took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-5, 25-8.

Kaci Wangsness was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven aces and four digs. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high. Gwenyth Rein was another key player, getting 27 assists and six digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Mabel-Canton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Mabel-Canton's win bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Schaeffer Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Coming up, Mabel-Canton is taking a road trip to face off against Spring Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Schaeffer Academy, they will face off against Tournament Opponent at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
