Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shiner walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Falls City Beavers on Thursday as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Comanches have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Landyn Pohler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jake Simper was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
