Basketball Recap: Nacogdoches Comes Up Short

If Nacogdoches was riding high fresh off their 78-43 takedown of Waskom last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nacogdoches Dragons came up short against the Hallsville Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 57-34. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 647th, while the Bobcats are ranked 133rd).

Nacogdoches has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Hallsville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Nacogdoches will face off against Texas at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Hallsville, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hallsville Bobcats duke it out with the Tyler Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Tyler has won four straight at home, while Hallsville won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
