Softball Recap: Watertown Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Watertown owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers. The victory continues a trend for the Goslings in their matchups with the Golden Beavers: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Cali Craig, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Beaver Dam off the board. Craig has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elle Stangler, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Watertown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Watertown's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.5 runs this season. As for Beaver Dam, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watertown will welcome Middleton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Beaver Dam, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Waunakee at 5:00 p.m.
