Basketball Game Preview: Law Lawmen vs. Cheshire Rams

The Law Lawmen will head out on the road to take on the Cheshire Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Law will be strutting in after a victory while Cheshire will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Law strolled past Wilbur Cross with points to spare, taking the game 78-62. Given the Lawmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Governors are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cheshire suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 74-54 to North Haven. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Nighthawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Law is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Cheshire, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Law came up short against Cheshire in their previous matchup back in January, falling 49-38. Can Law avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
