Recap: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. Hughes Lions
The Mt. Pleasant Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 67-46 margin over Hughes. For Mt. Pleasant, this counts as revenge for the 74-46 loss Hughes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2017.
Ryan Benderman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayden Holt, who scored 15 points.
Mt. Pleasant's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-3. As for Hughes, they bumped their record down to 7-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hampshire comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Hughes will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
