Recap: Peoria Heights Patriots vs. Peoria Christian Chargers
After flying high against the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats last Tuesday, the Peoria Heights Patriots came back down to earth. Peoria Heights fell just short of Peoria Christian by a score of 60-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Malachi Persinger was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Peoria Christian. Persinger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameson Fisher, who scored seven points along with six assists and two steals.
Peoria Heights' loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Peoria Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.
Peoria Heights will head out on the road to face off against Havana at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peoria Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Clinton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 472 points over their last seven matchups.
