Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeview Ravens vs. Bend Lava Bears

The Ridgeview Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Bend Lava Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, Ridgeview was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-35 to Mountain View.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-30, which was the final score in Bend's tilt against Redmond on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Lava Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Panthers are ranked 16th).

Bend now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Ridgeview, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Ridgeview was able to grind out a solid victory over Bend when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 44-35. Will Ridgeview repeat their success, or does Bend have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
