Basketball Game Preview: Viroqua Blackhawks vs. Mauston Golden Eagles

The Viroqua Blackhawks will head out to challenge the Mauston Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Viroqua sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 win over Westby.

Meanwhile, Mauston escaped with a win on Thursday against Adams-Friendship by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36.

Viroqua picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 6-14. As for Mauston, their win bumped their record up to 4-17.

Viroqua didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mauston in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 62-57 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Viroqua since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
