Basketball Recap: Johnston City Comes Up Short

Johnston City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt an 81-41 loss at the hands of the Goreville Blackcats. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-12.

Johnston City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Goreville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnston City will face off against Galatia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Galatia will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Johnston City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Goreville, they will square off against Trico at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
