Baseball Recap: Forrest County Agricultural Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sumrall

Forrest County Agricultural took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Sumrall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Aggies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over the Bobcats on Thursday. The Aggies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sean Walker and Landen Grice did most of the damage at the plate: Walker scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Grice scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, Walker posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Norman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Forrest County Agricultural lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win snapped Forrest County Agricultural's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record. As for Sumrall, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest County Agricultural will host St. Stanislaus at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sumrall, they will face off against West Marion at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
