Softball Preview: Sherman Oaks CES Knights vs. East Valley Falcons        
        
		
            Sherman Oaks CES is  a perfect 10-0 against East Valley since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Falcons  at 2:30  p.m. Sherman Oaks CES will come into the  contest with an undefeated record on the line.
While Sherman Oaks CES didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by  a  25-4 margin over Panorama on Monday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten  runs or more this season.
 Araceli Altamirano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.

 In other batting news,  Reyn Campbell was a standout: she scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Those  four  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kaylee Teddy, who  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Sherman Oaks CES was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .436 or higher in five consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, East Valley came up short against  Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences on Monday, falling  30-10. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Vipers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
 Sherman Oaks CES pushed their record up to 8-0 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for East Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Everything went Sherman Oaks CES' way against East Valley when the teams last played  back in March of 2024, as Sherman Oaks CES made off with  a  13-2 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success,  or do  the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
