Wheatland is 8-2 against Newcastle since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Dogies at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Wheatland came out on top. They took their game against Moorcroft on Friday 22-10. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Newcastle faced Burns in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dogies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Broncs, sneaking past 15-13.

A big part of Newcastle's victory came down to the chemistry between Teddy Troftgruben and his top target Dane Crabtree. Troftgruben rushed for 48 yards and one TD while Crabtree rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Wheatland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Newcastle, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Wheatland was taken down by Newcastle 40-13 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 27-0.
